When I first saw the
Google Earth Plugin I thought, "That's cool, we have to showcase that on the
3D Warehouse!" So we changed our
3D Model Map to use it. But, my real goal was to use the plugin to show users their fully navigable geo-models on Earth, right in the web page. A little typing, a bit of paperwork, and ta-dah! It's ready.
To see this in action, first find a
geo-referenced model in the
Google 3D Warehouse. Then, click on the
Map tab and choose the
Earth map type (this plugin is currently only available on Windows). You'll see the model load and the view change to focus on the 3D model - all within the 3D Warehouse.
